Justice systems fit for the future
Justice is in trouble
Demand for justice services is high, increasing, and not meeting demand. Delivery is seen as slow, hard to understand and not that effective. This is happening in a fast changing world, in which AI presents both opportunities and challenges with which justice systems can hardly keep up.
The result: trust in the system is low. People and communities doubt whether the law really protects them. Businesses, and especially medium and small sized enterprises, question whether justice systems sufficiently ensure legal certainty.
The impact is huge. Economic potential is lost. Societies are less safe and stable.
The pressure to act is high. On ministers, chief justices, senior policy-makers, leaders of bar associations, justice NGOs, businesses, or inter-national organisations
Concrete change is possible.

We can help develop and support reforms that are focussed, user-centred, and
grounded in political and budgetary realities.
What we do
Our approach is context specific, targeted, results-oriented and discrete, grounded in the promise of Sustainable Development Goal 16. We understand the constant urgency and the time constraints you can be under. We know of the opportunities that unexpectedly arise and that need to be taken. We can help identify quick wins that will secure a basis for deeper, longer-term change.
We offer support in four areas:
Strategic Advice and Policy Design
We offer practical, and time sensitive support to design focussed, politically viable and impactful delivery justice strategies. We can do this for different justice institutions or functions - including ministries of justice, judiciaries, prosecution services, legal aid boards, community justice mechanisms, in different areas of law - and in complex political environments.
Using justice sector trend analysis, foresight and scenario planning, theory of change labs, team and other stakeholder engagement processes, we help develop:
- A clear people-centred purpose and vision, which has buy-in and can be communicated.
- From that foundation, an inspiring strategy or policy which has buy-in.
- Empowered, capable teams that can effectively deliver.
- Fit-for-purpose governance struc-tures, sustainable funding models, and regulatory frame-works to support this.
- Robust accountability mecha-nisms with outcome-based measurement tools so success can be communicated. Inclusive approaches for diverse commu-nities.
Scaling Justice Innovation
We help identify and scale proven justice innovations that improve outcomes for individuals, businesses, and communities. We help adapt and embed what works based on sustainable and efficient funding models.
Using innovation mapping, developing an enabling environment, design labs, and start-up and scaling advice, we help develop:
- A justice innovation ecosystem
- Innovations that scale
Data Support
We help collect and deploy data on the legal needs and experiences of individuals and businesses to strengthen priority-setting, decision-making, and accountability.
With our tools that include connecting data sources, conducting justice needs surveys, developing outcome-based indicators, and creating actionable dashboards, we help develop:
- Outcome-based justice dashboards to monitor progress.
- User-centered Indicators for strategies and policies
- Evaluations
Trusted conversations
We offer confidential, trusted conversations for leaders and their teams to reflect on effectiveness, strengths, challenges, personal leadership and shared problem solving.
With coaching conversations and team retreats, we help develop:
- A safe space for personal and team reflection,
- and increasing personal and team effectiveness.
